Built-in feature

How to Find Your WeChat QR Code

To find your WeChat QR code, open WeChat, tap the Me tab, tap your profile photo, then tap My QR Code.

WeChat mints its own QR codes inside the app — one for your personal contact card, one for each group chat, and one for every Official Account. QRKIT can't (and no outside tool can) generate these for you from a WeChat ID. Here's where each one lives.

Your personal QR code (iOS & Android)

  1. 1Open WeChat and tap the Me tab in the bottom right corner.
  2. 2Tap your profile photo (or name) at the top of the screen to open your profile.
  3. 3Tap My QR Code. Your personal contact QR code appears — anyone who scans it inside WeChat can add you as a friend.
  4. 4Tap the “…” icon to save the code to your photos, share it, change its style, or reset it. Resetting invalidates every previously saved copy.

Group chats & Official Accounts

Group QR code

Open the group chat, tap the “…” icon in the top right, and choose Group QR Code. Per WeChat's help center, this code is valid for 7 days from the moment it's generated, and once the group passes 100 members, new people can't join by scanning — they need an invitation from a member.

Official Account QR code

Followers can open your account's profile page in WeChat to see its QR code, and admins can download a high-resolution version from the Official Account Platform (mp.weixin.qq.com) dashboard. Official Account links are stable, which makes them the best WeChat links to print.

Honest limitation: no tool can make a WeChat contact QR from a WeChat ID

WeChat IDs have no public URL scheme, so there is nothing a generator could encode from an ID alone — any site claiming otherwise is overselling. What QRKIT does is different: it takes the link behind your native WeChat QR code (a u.wechat.com contact link), or a group invite, Official Account, or weixin.qq.com link, and turns it into a branded, trackable QR code you control.

Step by step

How to Create a Custom WeChat QR Code

A custom WeChat QR code is a standard URL QR code pointing at a WeChat link. Get the link once, then brand the code however you like. Five steps, under two minutes.

1

Get Your WeChat Link

Save your native QR code (Me → profile photo → My QR Code → save to photos), then decode the image with QRKIT's free scanner to reveal your u.wechat.com contact link. Group invite, Official Account, and weixin.qq.com links work too.

2

Open the QRKIT Generator

Use the generator on this page and select the URL type. That's all a custom WeChat QR code is: a QR that opens a WeChat web link.

3

Paste Your WeChat Link

Drop the link into the field. Your QR code previews instantly, so you can see it update as you make changes.

4

Customize It

Switch your accent to WeChat green (#07C160), upload your logo into the center, and add a call-to-action frame like “Add me on WeChat.” Keep contrast high so it scans fast.

5

Download and Test

Download a PNG for web with a free account; SVG for crisp large prints and PDF for handouts come with any paid plan or the one-time Download Pack. Test-scan with a phone camera and inside WeChat's own scanner before you print anything.

For anything you print, go dynamic: a static code encodes the WeChat link permanently — if you ever reset your WeChat QR code or a group link expires, the printed code is dead. A dynamic QR code keeps the same image while letting you swap the destination to a fresh link anytime, and it adds scan tracking. Creating either type is free; full dynamic analytics are on a paid plan.

Comparison

Why a Custom QR Code Beats a Screenshot of Your WeChat QR

WeChat's native QR code is perfect for adding friends in person — it's built in, always current, and free. But for business cards, signage, and packaging, most people just screenshot it, and a screenshot has real limitations: fixed WeChat styling, raster-only quality that blurs in large print, no scan tracking, and a destination that dies if you ever reset your code. Here's the honest breakdown.

WeChat Native (Screenshot)

Built-in

Generated by WeChat itself, so it's guaranteed to work with WeChat's scanner — the code you save is the code you get. Fine for casual sharing; limited for anything printed or measured.

  • Minted by WeChat, always scannable in-app
  • Free, zero setup
  • Custom logo & brand colors
  • Scan tracking & analytics
  • Print-ready vector download (SVG)
  • Editable destination after printing
  • Desktop creation

QRKIT Custom

Recommended for print

The same WeChat link, wrapped in a QR code you control: your logo and colors, a call-to-action frame, print-ready SVG/PDF exports on any paid plan or the one-time Download Pack, and desktop creation. Build it on a dynamic code and you also get scan counts plus an editable destination — if you reset your WeChat QR code or rotate a group link, repoint instead of reprinting.

  • Custom logo & brand colors
  • Scan tracking & analytics (dynamic)
  • Print-ready vector download (SVG, on paid plans)
  • Editable destination after printing (dynamic)
  • Desktop creation from any browser
  • Free to design; a free account for the PNG download

Our recommendation: Use WeChat's native QR code for adding friends face to face — it's instant and needs no setup. Use a custom QR code for anything printed, branded, or worth measuring: business cards, storefront signage, packaging, and event materials. To be clear about what QRKIT is not: there is no WeChat API integration here and no access to your WeChat account — QRKIT simply encodes a WeChat web link in a QR code you design and, optionally, can edit and track.

Use cases

6 Ways to Use a WeChat QR Code

Business Cards

In markets where WeChat is the default business channel, “add me on WeChat” belongs on the card. A branded QR code scans faster than an ID gets typed. Pair it with a vCard QR code for your full contact details.

Storefront Signage

A “Follow us on WeChat” code in the window or at the counter turns foot traffic into followers of your Official Account. Print it big from an SVG so it scans from a distance.

Product Packaging

Put your Official Account QR on packaging and insert cards so customers can reach support or follow your brand right after purchase. A dynamic code lets you repoint it per campaign.

Event Badges & Trade Show Booths

Conferences and trade fairs are where WeChat contacts get exchanged. Print your contact QR on badges and booth banners — and remember group QR codes expire after 7 days, so use a dynamic code for multi-week events.

Email Signatures

Add a small “Reach me on WeChat” PNG to your signature for cross-border clients who prefer WeChat over email. One scan replaces the awkward ID-spelling exchange.

Flyers & Print Ads

Bridge print campaigns to your WeChat presence. Create a separate dynamic code per placement and compare scan counts to see which channel actually drives contacts.

Active beyond WeChat? Put all your profiles behind one code with a social media QR code — WeChat, WhatsApp, Instagram, LinkedIn, and more on a single landing page.

Scanning

How People Scan a WeChat QR Code

Inside WeChat: the surest path. In WeChat, tap the “+” in the top right and choose Scan (“Sao Yi Sao”), or long-press any QR image inside WeChat to extract it. Contact and group codes open natively — straight to the add friend or join screen.

With a phone camera: a custom WeChat QR code is a standard URL code, so any iPhone or Android camera reads it. The link typically opens in the browser first and hands off to WeChat where supported. Full walkthrough in our how to scan a QR code guide.

Scan works but nothing happens?

If the code scans but the destination fails, the WeChat link behind it has usually changed: a reset personal QR code, an expired group code (7 days), or a group past the 100-member scan-to-join limit. Repoint a dynamic QR code at a fresh link, and check our QR code not working fixes for everything else.
