Etsy QR Code Generator

Paste your Etsy shop or listing URL and QRKIT turns it into a branded QR code you can print on packaging inserts, thank-you cards, hang tags, and craft-fair signage. Make it dynamic and you can repoint the same printed card later — from a sold-out listing to your shop page, say — without reprinting a thing. It's a URL QR code pointing at your Etsy page, not an Etsy integration.

Shop URL or Listing URL: Pick One First

An Etsy QR code has exactly one input: a web address. Open your shop page — or the individual listing you want to feature — in a browser and copy the URL out of the address bar. That is it. Paste it into the URL field above and you have a scannable code. There is nothing to install and no Etsy permissions to grant, because QRKIT never touches your Etsy account; it just encodes the link you hand it.

Point at your shopwhen the code is going somewhere durable — every insert you print this year, a hang tag, a craft-fair sign. Your shop page is the destination least likely to disappear, and it lets the buyer browse rather than land on one item.

Point at one listing when you have a specific ask: a hero product, a new release, a bundle you are pushing this month. It is a sharper call to action, but it is also the more fragile choice, because listings come and go. That fragility is the whole argument for the next section.

Copy the link exactly as your browser shows it. A hand-shortened or partially selected URL is the single most common reason a finished code opens the wrong page — and you will not find out until the cards are printed.

Why dynamic matters here

The Sold-Out Listing Problem

Here is the situation that catches handmade sellers out. You order 500 packaging inserts with a QR code pointing at your best-selling listing. Three months later that listing is retired, renamed, or replaced by a v2 — and you still have 300 inserts in a drawer and dozens already shipped in boxes. Every one of them now points somewhere you did not intend.

A static code cannot be rescued. The URL is encoded in the black-and-white pattern itself, so changing the destination means generating a new code and reprinting everything.

A dynamic code can. The printed pattern holds a short QRKIT link, and the destination lives in your dashboard. You edit the link once and every card already in circulation follows — the ones in the drawer and the ones in other people's homes. Repoint a retired listing at your shop page, swap a seasonal promo for the next one, or send this month's inserts to a restock announcement.

It also means you can print in bulk with confidence. The reason sellers order 100 cards instead of 500 is usually the fear that the link will go stale. A dynamic code removes that reason.

Four steps

How to Make an Etsy QR Code

About a minute, start to finish. Designing and previewing need no account at all; downloading the finished file needs a free one.

1

Copy your Etsy URL

Open your shop page or a listing in a browser and copy the full address, exactly as it appears.

2

Paste it into the URL field

Drop it into the URL field above. The code previews live as you type, so you can check it before you commit.

3

Brand it with your shop logo

Add your logo in the center and match the colors to your packaging. Free on every plan.

4

Download for print

Take the SVG for anything going to a printer, or a PNG for screens. No watermark on any plan.

How it works: this is a standard URL QR code that opens your Etsy page when scanned. QRKIT doesn't connect to Etsy, doesn't need your Etsy login, and never sees your orders, listings, or payouts — it points a code at the link you paste.

Real placements

Where an Etsy QR Code Earns Its Keep

Etsy sends buyers to you once. A printed code is how you turn that single order into a second one, because it puts your shop back in front of someone who already paid you.

Packaging inserts

A small card tucked in with the order is the highest-intent moment a buyer will ever have with your shop. One scan and they are back on your shop page instead of hunting for your name in their purchase history.

Thank-you cards

Pair the code with a short handwritten note. It reads as a personal follow-up rather than an ad, which is why it converts better than the same link in a shipping notification.

Review requests

Point the code at the page where you would like feedback left. A card in the box catches buyers while the item is still in their hands, which is when they are most likely to write something.

Care and instruction cards

Send a code to a longer care guide, sizing chart, or assembly video instead of cramming it onto a slip of paper. Useful for handmade goods where the instructions outgrow the card.

Craft fairs and pop-up tables

A code on a table tent lets someone who liked a piece but did not buy it walk away with your shop in their pocket. It is the cheapest way to convert browsers after the event.

Hang tags and product labels

Print the code on the tag itself so the shop link travels with the product — including to whoever receives it as a gift and has never heard of you.

Static vs dynamic

Which Etsy QR Code Should You Make?

Both open your Etsy page the same way and look the same on the card. The difference is entirely about what you can do after it is printed — and whether you can count the scans.

Static Etsy code

Unlimited on free
  • Make as many as you like on the free plan, with no scan cap — static codes aren't counted or metered.
  • Never expires. The URL lives in the pattern, so there is no service in the middle that can stop working.
  • Best for a link that will not change — and for one-off signage you can cheaply reprint if it does.
  • Trade-off: no scan tracking, and no way to change the destination once it is printed.

Dynamic Etsy code

1 free with account
  • Repoint it any time — retired listing to shop page, one promo to the next — without reprinting a single card.
  • See scan analytics — scan totals on every plan including Free, so you can tell whether the insert is actually working. The rough-location, device, and time-of-day breakdowns and CSV export start on Starter. Free accounts keep 30 days of history; paid plans keep two years.
  • The free plan includes 1 dynamic code and 100 scans per month across the whole account. Past 100 scans the code stops redirecting until your monthly reset, so check the cap before you put a card in every order.
  • Starter is $6/mo billed yearly ($12 monthly) for 12 dynamic codes and unlimited scans — the realistic plan once inserts are shipping.

Shipping enough orders that 100 scans a month won't cover it? Compare the plans on our pricing page.

Print it right

Printing an Etsy Insert That Actually Scans

Small cards are where codes fail most often, because sellers shrink them to fit and crowd them with branding. These five specs keep yours readable on a first-try scan, whether it is a card, a sticker, or a hang tag.

Size it for a hand, not a wall

Inserts and thank-you cards are read up close, so 1.2 inches (3 cm) square is enough. Go bigger only for a craft-fair sign someone reads from a few feet away.

Keep strong contrast

A dark code on a light background reads best. Weak contrast — a pale code on kraft paper, for instance — is the most common reason a printed code won't scan.

Leave a quiet zone

Keep a clear margin on all four sides. Crowding the code with your shop name or a decorative border is what trips up scanners on small cards.

Print from the SVG

The SVG is the vector file from the create flow, so it stays crisp at any size. Send that to your print shop rather than a PNG scaled up.

Test the proof, then order

Scan your finished proof with two or three different phones before you commit to 500 cards. A batch of unscannable inserts is an expensive lesson.

On file formats:from the create flow above, the SVG is the only true vector export — the PDF it produces is a 1024px image placed on an A4 page, which is fine as a proof but not as press artwork. Free-plan PNG downloads top out at 1024px; the SVG is unaffected by that limit. Once a code is saved to your dashboard, re-downloading it from there gives you genuinely vector PDF and EPS files to hand a print shop. Full sizing numbers are in the QR code size guide.

Because this is a URL QR code underneath, the same generator handles any other link in your business — build one for anything with the URL QR code generator. Selling on more than one platform? There's a dedicated Shopify QR code page too. Sending buyers to your feed instead? Instagram QR codes work the same way, and a branded QR code keeps every one of them matching your shop.
